Detroit Lions under 22.5 Points (-110)

The #1 reason why I like the under on this total is outlined thoroughly in my Week 15 writeup: Jared Goff’s unproven, erratic play in cold weather environments. He has had limited exposure to the cold, and has put together some brutal performances. See the Week 15 writeup of those details….

Moving on to the Jets part of this equation… New York has held 9 of its last 10 opponents under 22.5, with only the Vikings getting to 27 in a dome environment during that span. The Jets have played some talented offenses including Buffalo 2X, Chicago, and Miami. During this same 10 game stretch, the Jets have allowed an average of just 16.2 points per game. At home, New York has had a better rush defense in terms of yards per carry, a better red zone TD % allowed, and they’ve also had more takeaways. Quinnen Williams may be forced to miss this game, but I believe there is enough depth on the defensive line to force Jared Goff into a long afternoon. I think it’s likely the Lions score less than 20 points.

Best of Luck!
